Star Wars: The Force Awakens Teaser (+Gallery)

There has been an awakening, have you felt it?…

How can I NOT be excited after seeing the real 88 second teaser for Star Wars: The Force Awakens? It’s got some badass shots of stormtroopers (including a lost looking John Boyega), spinny droids, fighter pilots in X-Wings, a sinister Benedict Cumberbatch sounding voiceover…wait…is that actually him? Annnnd the MUTHAFUCKIN’ MILLENIUM FALCON. Okay I’ve watched it about thirty times already, time for you to do the same:

2001: A Space Odyssey’s Digital Restoration Has A New Trailer (+Gallery)

HAL: “I know I’ve made some very poor decisions recently, but I can give you my complete assurance that my work will be back to normal. I’ve still got the greatest enthusiasm and confidence in the mission. And I want to help you”…

I’ve been under the weather the last couple of days and it pretty much sucks ass. Buuuut I saw this great news and knew I wouldn’t be taking the day off from Play It Black, although my energy levels won’t let me do much more than this post today. You may see me quietly kicking some ass on Twitch later tho, speaking in my now extremely nasally and stuffed up voice, coughing regularly into the mic, etc. Hell, you may even see me nod off in the middle of a game session. I’m that worn out from this…cold I guess you would call it.

Also, look for the new Wednesday Video Dump tomorrow. Those are fun…

Anyways, back to work.

2001: A Space Odyssey, directed by the late, great Stanley Kubrick (The Shining, Full Metal Jacket) has received the digital restoration treatment and will premiere on November 28th at the British Film Institute‘s (BFI) “Sci-Fi: Days of Fears and Wonder” celebration. The BFI and Warner Bros also commissioned the first new trailer for the film in forty years.

Every time I watch this film (at least once a year) I’m reminded that it came out a full ten years before the first Star Wars. That’s insane. Here’s that trailer. Click on any of the pics below it for a gallery.

Abrams Teases Millenium Falcon, Snyder Teases Batmobile, aka Geek Heaven

Let them fight…

2016 is going to be a COLOSSALLY GIGANTIC year for movies,  meaning the biggest EVER. Sure, nearly all of em are sequels, but these are pretty GD notable sequels. Look at this insane lineup of what is currently scheduled (some could most def see delays):

But you know what? None of those are as big as that movie releasing December 18th, 2015:  Star Wars: Episode VII.  None. I surely got excited  when I read that JJ Abrams put out the first “official” video of the Millenium Falcon today, and it even gave a little Easter Egg at the end (I’ll let you watch the video first before giving it away). Surely I would have liked to see the cockpit, but I’ll live.

Yeah, that “Easter Egg” was a Batmobile at the bottom of the Falcon. Its a reference to Zack Snyder‘s posting of Star Wars / Batman crossovers on Twitter, just click here for the story on that one.
