 Iiiiiiits Monday! And I fucking love Mondays! Because here at Play It Black its #MusicMonday, and this one’s definitely special.

Today, September 22nd sits between two important dates: on September 21st, 1950, Bill Murray was born, and slightly less than a year earlier, September 23, 1949, Bruce Springsteen, aka “The Boss” came into the world. So lets wish these two gangsters a Happy Happy Happy Happy Birthday from Play It Black by taking a look at some of my favorite videos!

Rush’s 2112 (In Honor of TPB Season 8) – #MusicMonday

In honor of the release of season 8 of Trailer Park Boys on Netflix, I’m throwin’ up my favorite album of Ricky, Julian, and Bubbles favorite band. That’s right, it’s Rush’s 2112.

A little history of this album: despite the pleadings of Mercury Records at the time for the band to not do another “concept” album (after the semi-commercial failure of the previous album, Caress of Steel), members Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Pert wrote this sci-fi masterpiece telling a dystopian story set in the year 2112. It became their breakthrough album, and eventually lead to this glorious moment where Ricky kidnaps Alex Lifeson:
