Finished the regular season 7-9, Which puts my season record at 137-117-2. But just like that it is the best time of the year: The NFL playoffs.

DoubleB may disagree with me as he believes that March Madness is the best time of the year. He has a point, and a good argument, but in my humble opinion NFL playoffs get the edge, just slightly. That being said I still have gone to Las Vegas for March Madness for the last seven years, and it is a damn good experience.
So let’s rock and roll. ITS WILDCARD TIME!!!!

Saturday Night Wildcard games
#5 Oakland Raiders (12-4) at #4 Houston Texans  (9-7)
(-3.5) (O/U 36.5)
1:35 PM

Let me preface this by saying that I respect Raider fans as i’ve said many times before.
This is the first time in 13 years that they have had a winning season. Facebook wasn’t even invented last time they made the playoffs, yet “Raider Nation” has stood by their team the whole time.

Hawk’s 2016 NFL Picks: Week 9

By Brent “The Hawk” Walker
AFC BYE’S- Cincinnati Bengals (3-4-1), Houston Texans (5-3), New England Cheaters (7-1)
NFC BYE’S- Arizona Cardinals (3-4-1), Chicago Bears (2-6), Washington Redskins (4-3-1)

Another week down and a second tie in two weeks as the Bengals and Redskins could not find a winner in London.
Week 8 record 7-5-1 which puts me at 62-56-2 for the year.  Talk about a bizarre season. Usually you see a tie in the NFL about once every 3 years and we saw two in a row. Gonna be another quick one as now I’m sick. But here we go.

[arve url=””]

New York Jets (3-5) at Miami Dolphins (3-4)
(-3.5) (0/U 44.0)
Despite the 3-4 record I think Miami is a playoff team. That record is nothing to be ashamed of after their brutal first half of the season. Jets pass defense is garbage and Fitzpatrick is a pick machine.
Pick:  Dolphins
Jacksonville Jaguars (2-5) at Kansas City Chiefs  (5-2)
(-7.5) (O/U 44.0)
Alex Smith left last week’s game twice after suffering blows to the head and did not come back after the second time because they suspected he had a concussion. Turns out he did not suffer a concussion but regardless he will not play in this game.
Nick Foles will get the start. I don’t know how much it will matter. Jaguars suck yet again.
Pick: Chiefs

Hawk’s 2016 NFL Picks: Week 1

Picking winners in week 1 is a crap shoot. You just never know what good teams from last year will fall apart this and what bad team will step it up and become playoff contenders. But I am committed again this year so let’s get right to it.
Green Bay Packers at Jacksonville Jaguars
(+4.5) (O/U 48.0)
Everyone always like picking the Packers. They have a high powered offense with Aaron Rodgers, and Jordy Nelson is back after missing all of last season.
But you know who else has a high powered offense? This Jaguars team. Blake Bortles threw for 4428 yards and 35 TD’s last year. Mainly to his two elite receivers Allen Robinson (1,400 yards, 14 Td’s) and Allen Hurns, ( 1,031 yards, 10 Tds) their defense needs work but they can keep up with the Packers high paced offense.
Pick: Jaguars

Hawk’s NFL Picks: Chargers at Raiders (Thursday Night Football)

San Diego Chargers (4-10) at Oakland Raiders (6-8) (-5.0)
(47.0 O/U)
By Brent “The Hawk” Walker
We go to Oakland on Christmas Eve for the last Thursday Night Game of the year. Well second to last I guess. The game on Saturday this week is called Thursday Night Football, Saturday Edition which is just about the dumbest thing ever. I assume it is for legal reasons are something.
The Chargers defeated the Dolphins 30-14 last week which many believe will be the last game in San Diego ever. After 55 years, many expect the Chargers to move to Los Angeles for the 2016-2017 season. Adding injury to insult, if it is the season they picked a real bad year to end on with a current record of 4-10.

Hawk’s NFL Picks: Week 10

By Brent “The Hawk” Walker

Ouch!! 5-8 last week.

This year is nearly impossible to predict. 72-60 on my NFL Picks for the year. Must get better.

Team byes: Atlanta Falcons, Indianapolis Colts, Detroit Lions, San Diego Chargers, San Francisco 49ers
New Orleans Saints (4-5) at Washington Redskins (3-5) (+1.0)
(50.5 O/U)
The red hot Saints of the last month or so appeared to cool off last week, defeated by a very weak Titans team 34-28 in overtime.

Washington has a pretty good pass defense that ranks 9th best so if the Saints have indeed cooled off like I think they have, Washington has a good chance here.

Pick: Redskins

Hawks NFL Picks: Week 9

By Brent “The Hawk” Walker

A week 8 record of 7-7 puts me at 67-52 for the year.
Damn! the regular season is officially half over already. Week 9 here I come.
Team byes: Arizona Cardinals, Baltimore Ravens, Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, Kansas City Chiefs, Seattle Seahawks
Jacksonville Jaguars (2-5) at New York Jets (4-3)
Line: NYJ -9.0
O/U: 40

New York suffered a surprising loss to Oakland last week. A team with one of the best defenses in the NFL got shredded by Derek Carr and company, but what better way to bounce back than to play a home game against the lowly Jaguars?
Pick: Jets

Hawks NFL Picks: Week 8 Edition

By Brent “The Hawk” Walker

A week 7 record of 9-5 puts me at 60-45 on my NFL Picks for the year. On to week 8
Team byes: Buffalo Bills, Jacksonville Jaguars, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins
Detroit Lions (1-6) at Kansas City Chiefs (2-5)
Line: KC -3.0
O/U: 44.5
(In London)

Two teams expected to be playoff teams have had those aspirations all but dashed midway through the season. The margin of error is small in this league.
Rolling with the Chiefs in this one simply because I think Detroit has already given up and the Chiefs aren’t quite there yet.
Pick: Chiefs
