Watch The Final Play of Each of the Last 49 World Series

Oh those uniforms…

Pittsburgh-Pirates-Win-1979-World-Series

With game 7 of the World Series having kicked off (as of this time its 2-up in the second inning), I thought it would be a good time to share this awesome video that Major League Baseball put together that shows the final play from each of the last 49 World Series (none of which were won by the Seattle Mariners, damn).

By the way, due to unforseen circumstances, I may be unable to finish the Wednesday Video Dump today. It’ll be done tomorrow night at the latest.

Ryan Adams’ Self Titled – #MusicMonday Co-Album of the Week

“Got nothin to say, got nothin’ to prove”
– I Just Might

Ryan-Adams-Music-Monday-Album-of-the-week

I’ve always been a fan of Ryan Adams, although I hadn’t really heard much of his music until…like yesterday. Back in the day my dad had some Whiskeytown albums and Adams really stood out on those (I especially like their cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams). It wasn’t til Old School came out on DVD and I watched it roughly eighty times that I found out his actual name. Adams’ song To Be Young (Is To Be Sad, Is To Be High) was the first song played in that comedy classic by the way.

I’ve had a couple musician friends, who don’t know each other, gush over Ryan Adams latest album in recent weeks. I really trust their opinion and knew I had to give it a go, and so yesterday finally gave it a listen and I’m very much hooked (hence the live version of Kim I posted).

Ladies and gentleman, Ryan Adams self-titled album, released September 8th, 2014.

Revisiting Green Day’s Nimrod – #MusicMonday Co-Album of the Week

“I’m just a grouch sitting on a couch,
The world owes me so fuck you”
– The Grouch

Greenday-Music-Monday-Album-of-the-week

The other day I was at work driving a Porsche that I could barely fit in. I’m a sizable dude, so squeezing into some of the vehicles that I do at my job (I’m a valet/bellman at a ridiculously nice hotel in Seattle) can be a sizable strain. But in this situation I was almost tempted to stay in the car for an extra minute. The song on the radio was “Hitchin’ a Ride“, from Green Day‘s Nimrod album, my favorite from the band (although Dookie has to be a close second).

Hearing that song for the first time in years made me think about how much I listened to that album back in 1997 (it was released September 22nd of that year). Hell, I didn’t like Hitchin’ a Ride back when, and eventually grew to actually dislike the album for a minute after I saw “Time of Your Life” on the Seinfeld finale.  But now I remember. Songs like “The Grouch“, “Platypus – I Hate You” and “Prosthetic Head” had me then, have me now.

Its kinda funny, over the last week or two I’ve been checking out Spotify‘s Top 100 list, which is more or less all new to me (yeah I was pretty anti-radio for a while there) cause I wanted to see what kind of newer music I would like (which there was a lot more than I expected), and this album sounds pretty fuckin’ hardcore in comparison to whats big these days.

Anyways, here it is: Greenday’s Nimrod, the co-album of the week (along with Ryan Adams self-titled that I’m about to post too):

Ryan Adams – Kim (Live on Fallon) – #MusicMonday (or near enough)

With all the trouble i’m in…

Ryan-Adams-Kim-Letterman-2

Ryan Adams performed a web exclusive version of Kim, from his recently released self-titled album, on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

It, and the album its part of blow my mind. I needed to slap something up for Sunday after a day of work and celebrating a Seahawks victory, and I couldn’t begin to think of something better I’ve listened to today.

Hawk’s 2014 NFL Picks Week 8 Edition

Seahawks look to move above .500 against a tough Carolina squad, and then theres the rest of the league…
Hawks-NFL-Picks-Week-8

Welcome to The Hawk’s 2014 NFL Picks Week 8 Edition.

Since The Hawk, who is still enjoying himself in Belize, started making his picks in week 2 he has a 52-29-1(? I don’t even know how to count a tie, really) overall record, including a 10-3 mark last week (note that he generally doesn’t pick the Thursday Night games cuz he’s workin’ hard at his two jobs).

DouBle B’s CFB Picks 2014 – Week 9: Weekend Edition

All killer no filler (actually, that was filler)…

Welcome to DouBle B’s CFB Picks 2014 Week 9: Weekend Edition.

Well…if anything has been made clear after eight weeks in the world of College Football, its that regardless of whether or not it deserves four out of the top five AP Top 25 spots the SEC is stacked. Theres been a lot of backlash over the most recent rankings, but really I think people need to calm the fuck down. Its Week 9, meaning theres still, including tomorrows action, eight weeks of football left. As brutal as the SEC is, its gonna beat itself up and the cream will rise to the top.

Anyhow, as of this moment I’ve got about fifty minutes to bust out my picks before I leave for work. So lets do this!
