Like I said, short on time, rapid fire. A lot of cupcakes on the table for the big boys:
#1 Florida State Seminoles over Oklahoma State Cowboys
Although I think it’ll be much closer than some think…
#2 Alabama Crimson Tide over West Virginia Mountaineers
Bama’s got some provin’ to do after the two losses at the end of last season.
#3 Oregon Ducks over South Dakota Coyotes
Coyotes ended the 2013 season with five straight losses, including a 42-0 beatdown by North Dakota State to end the season.
#4 Oklahoma Sooners over Louisiana Tech Bulldogs
I’m not 100% sure about these Sooners, but I’m pretty GD sure they’ll take home the W on Saturday.
#5 Ohio State Buckeyes over Navy Midshipmen
The Buckeyes better watch out though. These guys are no pushovers.
#6 Auburn Tigers over Arkansas Razorbacks
Ditto for Auburn. The ‘Backs need to make up for some disappointing play in 2013.
#7 UCLA Bruins over Virginia Cavaliers
Myles Jack…I wish you were wearing a Husky jersey on Saturday.
#11 Stanford Cardinal over UC Davis Aggies
Admittedly I haven’t watched any tape on the Aggies, but does it matter? People need to get used to the fact that this Stanford run probably won’t end any time soon.
#16 Clemson Tigers over #12 Georgia Bulldogs
I had to pick an “upset” right? Georgia could be much better this season, they plucked away Florida State’s defensive coordinator. I don’t know if you saw the Seminoles D last season, but they were pretty fuckin’ scary. The Bulldogs also might have the best running back in the country in Todd Gurley.
#13 LSU Tigers over #14 Wisconsin Badgers
I’m excited about seeing this Leonard Fournette, a freshman running back Tigers coach Les Miles recently compared to Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods. Did they play football too?
#15 USC Trojans over Fresno State Bulldogs
I would definitely love an upset here. I never realized Coach Sark took Justin Wilcox with him…don’t know how much I like that.
Rice Owls over #17 Notre Dame Fighting Irish
I could be wrong. I definitely pick the Irish to lose…a lot. But the Owls did win 10 games last season and Notre Dame’s defense is quite suspect.
#20 Kansas State Wildcats over Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks
The Lumberjacks were 3-9 last season. I expect KSU to be pretty mediocre, but not enough to drop this one.
#22 Nebraska Cornhuskers over Florida Atlantic Owls
I’ll skip watching this one. But then again every time I say that something magical happens. That’s not true either actually.
#23 North Carolina Tar Heels over Liberty Flames
Liberty has a football team too huh? And they actually went 8-4…against subpar competition but hey.
#24 Missouri Tigers over South Dakota State Jackrabbits
If this were a basketball game I’d be suspect. NDST actually has a halfway decent program. But this is football. MVFC (whatever that means) vs SEC.
#25 Washington Huskies over Hawaii Warriors
I love this scheduling by the Huskies. Take on a team that finished 1-11 last season. Hey, if all these other top programs get the softies in their first week, why do we have to schedule the bully. Chris Petersen‘s debut better rock.
Sunday, August 30th
#10 Baylor Bears over SMU Mustangs
Should be a fun one to watch. Even if Baylor puts up 80.
