This is full of wtf…
Fox Sports‘ Jay Glazer was the first to report the news that came out this afternoon: Percy Harvin has been shipped to the Jets.
For a conditional draft pick. While losing a fuckload of money.
Honestly, I thought there was no way I read it right. I absolutely hate this move for the Seahawks. Hate. Hate. Hate.
Sure, last time I checked I’m not hanging in the locker room with the players, so I don’t know what kinda chemistry issues he may or may not have caused, if any. I also filled in for somebody at work on Sunday so he could go to the Seahawks vs Cowboys (he’s a hardcore Dallas fan), so I didn’t see Harvin’s three catches for zero yards (plus 3 rushes for -1 yard). His stats are pretty awful right now: 22 catches for 133 yards, zero touchdowns.
But I do know one thing: that man is dangerous.
Dangerous at a level only a select few players in the entire National Football League are. Players like Cordarrelle Patterson, DeSean Jackson, and Devin Hester (at least when he was younger) come to mind. Every single down that he is in the defense is looking at him out of the corner of their eyes, because they know what he is capable of. The Seahawks lost its best weapon, although they didn’t really know how to use it too well.
I mean just look at this guy move:
And they gave him up for a single conditional draft pick.
But then again I trust in Pete Carroll. He hasn’t made many bad moves since he came to Seattle. And maybe its what the Seahawks needed to make to get its offense unhitched.
But I still hate it.
Well…it was somewhat more stable last week…
Welcome to DouBle B’s CFB Picks 2014 Week 8 Edition, lets start out with…
Week 7 Recap (with last week’s rank in parenthesis):
By my count I went 11-4 in week 7. You can read those predictions HERE.
The most glaring misspick was saying (23) Missouri would beat (13) Georgia because of all the turmoil surrounding Todd Gurley, added with the fact that Mizzou was hosting. Final score: 34-0 Georgia.
I also didn’t pick (3) Mississippi State over (2) Auburn because I thought there was no chance both Mississippi schools would have epic days, but I was wrong.
(9) TCU nearly made me look good, but (5) Baylor scored the final 24 points to pull off the amazing comeback.
USC, who I called “suddenly mediocre” (and this is a team I love) moved to 4-2 after upsetting a previously undefeated (10) Arizona Wildcats squad that had just upset Oregon a week earlier.
And…although the Georgia pick was the most glaring, the one that hurt the most was Duke giving (22) Georgia Tech their first loss of the season. #FuckDuke

“It does not do to leave a live dragon out of your calculations, if you live near him”…
I’m just now starting to get a little pumped for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. I guess that’s the way I’m rolling these days, because I generally don’t get too jacked about anything until its close to happening. Unless you count Episode VII, of course. The “Defining Chapter” of The Hobbit Trilogy hits cinemas December 12th in the UK, December 26th in the US, and December 26th in Australia (hey, I had the wikipedia page pulled up so I might as well have given you the information on all three dates, plus I hear that people live in those places and I know that people from those places look at this site).
Anyways the movies’ Twitter account has been slamming out a bunch of new posters and banners over the last few days. I’ve put every one I could find (plus the rad SDCC poster) in my short amount of time in the gallery below, just click on any one of em to start a slideshow. And for those of you who haven’t seen a trailer yet, heres that too:

Welcome to The Hawk’s 2014 NFL Picks Week 6 Edition.
Since The Hawk started making his picks in week 2 he has a 35-20 overall record, including a stellar 10-4 mark last week (note that he generally doesn’t pick the Thursday Night games cuz he’s workin’ hard at his two jobs).

Who’s on top?
1. San Diego Chargers (4-1)
Damn! Chargers look dangerous this year. Rivers is on a roll. Their sole loss was opening Monday Night Football, barely against an Arizona team that is tough when healthy. They were healthy in week 1. Not so much now.
2. Seattle Seahawks (3-1)
Really wanted to put the Hawks at 1. but can’t because they lost to the Chargers week 2. Rivers and company took advantage of San Diego’s hot weather that day, and controlled the ball for 43 mins to Seattle’s 17 minutes, but Seattle still had a chance to win the game late.
3. Denver Broncos (3-1)
Denver looks even better this year then the team that won the AFC last year. Peyton will most likely break Favre’s career TD record of 508 in two more games. He is at 503.
